We've honed our methods to ensure that every cut, every slice, is an ode to the wood's natural splendor. Our dedication not only focuses on the unique sawing technique but also on unveiling the inherent beauty and potential of each log. With Horizon’s boules and flitches, you're not just acquiring a piece of wood; you're becoming a part of a legacy of craftsmanship, quality, and unparalleled dedication to the art of woodworking.
What is a Boule?
A boule, at its essence, can be likened to a loaf of bread. Rather than slicing traditionally across, it is longitudinally cut "through-and-through" from one end of the log to the other. This unique method of sawing the log gives birth to what we refer to as a flitch. When these flitches are of notable thickness and width, they graduate to being recognized as slabs.
Advantages of Boules
Horizon ensures that each piece of flitch-cut wood is diligently tracked and labeled. This meticulous process allows for the logs to be reconstructed, retaining the essence of the original log.

Consistency in Lineage
Every flitch in a boule comes from the same log, sharing a lineage that ensures uniformity in quality and character. This familial bond within the boule ensures a perfect match for woodworkers aiming to create standout projects.
