About Us

The folks who have joined together to form the Horizon work force come with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  Among our differing levels of educational accomplishments can be found graduates of the world-renowned Memphis School of Lumber Graders and Penn State's School of Agriculture.

All of our employees come from the local area and have grown up with an appreciation of our surrounding forests and the fine hardwoods that they produce. Most of us are basic family type people who care about the environment in which our kids will be growing up.

The common thread that ties the work force together is enthusiasm, dedication and interest in making Horizon a great place to work. Employees are recognized for their contributions to the fabric of the organization. We are all a part of the "Horizon".

The Key people at Horizon are:

George TerbovichGeorge Terbovich - Owner and CEO
George founded the company in the mid 70's and is continuously driven to find ways to improve it and maintain it's image of quality, uniqueness and creativity. He can often be heard saying, "Status quo is no go! - Let's figure out a way to do it better." His imagination, intelligence, drive and determination keep moving the company forward.

John DeLulloJohn DeLullo - Log Yard Manager
John has spent his entire working career
with wood.  He has  experienced the wood business from many different angles, including having owned and operated his own successful sawmill and maintaining the distribution and trucking end of the operation.  He has a thorough understanding of what makes the wood industry "tick".  John does a remarkable job of maintaining the yard and tracking the inventory but he is probably most recognized for his talents in handling the log purchases and sales.  He is always ready to share his in-depth knowledge of wood and the wood market, as well as his easy, friendly smile and patience to make the customer feel comfortable at Horizon.

Jody BrianJody Brian - Mill Manager
Jody brings a long history of expertise as a sawyer and mill manager to the Horizon environment.  Being a graduate of the Memphis Lumber Grading School he truly understands the product and strives to maintain the consistent high quality  standards for which Horizon is so well known.   His uncanny ability to recognize a potential mechanical problem before it occurs helps him keep the mill running smoothly.  Jody is appreciated for his calm, rational look at the entire picture.

Dan TerbovichDan Terbovich
Dan was welcomed into the fold in 2004 after completing his studies at Penn State University. The eldest son of Horizon’s founder, Dan grew up in the Terbovich household and was indirectly immersed in Horizon since his early days. His frequent exposure to business related conversations and projects provided him with a better than average understanding of wood, interactions with customers, and hard work.

Working in every division of the company in some capacity during the summers of his college years gave Dan a thorough understanding of the business at hand and a good look at how things operate from the bottom up. It did not take him long to incorporate those early experiences with the theories he had learned in school. He is now instrumental in the control of most aspects of grading, quality control, dry kilning. He shares responsibility for Horizon’s unique specialty woods and architectural products with his brother, Pete. Dan’s sharp business acumen makes him a great fit in the sales department. He understands the meaning of wearing many hats, and is a master at juggling them successfully. We are proud to have him aboard.

Pete TerbovichPete Terbovich
The Horizon scene was the backdrop for a multitude of Pete’s working and learning experiences as a youngster. With a natural capacity for all things mechanical, he was able to maneuver the old double clutch army truck that once serviced the log yard long before he was old enough to be licensed to drive on the road. Pete spent endless hours at the company during his youth preparing loads for shipment, working on special projects, and helping his father. Maintaining the Terbovich legacy, Pete is a graduate of Penn State University. He began his full time roll at Horizon in 2007. Today he has acquired the skill needed to run the head saw and, although his numerous other duties keep him on the run, he occasionally finds himself in the sawyer’s booth filling in for the head sawyer. Additionally, he has helped tackle the organization of Horizon’s Evolutions division, making it take on a more significant role in the company’s performance.

Blessed with a boundless curiosity and a love for exploring different cultures, Pete has traveled widely and spent several extended periods during his college days living and learning in Italy. His understanding of both Italian language and culture makes him a natural to be one of the Horizon’s liaisons with the company’s western European connections. Pete’s winning attitude makes a wonderful compliment to the Horizon personality.

DeAnna MannDeAnna Mann
With customers coming from all corners of the world, orders and contracts being filled at a rapid pace and the constant improvements that are required of a dynamic operation, there is no doubt that Horizon’s office is a lively, challenging and fast moving place. DeAnna Mann, the office manager, masterfully handles the task of overseeing all the activities that go on there. With her impressive organizational skills, efficient work habits, cheery optimism and absolute conviction that any job is worth approaching with all her effort, she brings a delightfully upbeat, can-do sort of attitude to the Horizon office workforce.

The entire Horizon Staff
Without the dedication and determination of the whole Horizon "Family" the company would not be what it is today.  Horizon values each and every employee for the important role they make in shaping the organization.  The workforce is constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the company and make things better.  Suggestions are encouraged and welcome. The people make the company - Horizon is made by good folks.
